The shire is turning 21 this month!!! To celebrate we’re going to let someone else do the cooking. Join us for food and frivolity. We’ll start gathering at noon Sunday, April 23, but feel free to come and go as needed.
(Bard) Jen, our newly authorized youth marshall, will be holding an information meeting with children and parents at our Fighter Practice in order to lay out rules and expectations.
Please note that A&S/Fighter practice is moving to WEDNESDAY nights starting March 1, 2017. Same location (Tikvat Israel) and time (7-9 pm).
This week’s A&S is Feast of Fools prep at CC’s house in Wheaton. Email email@example.com if you need the address.
The room where we usually hold practice will be unavailable Thursday. Weather permitting, fighter practice will be outside in the parking lot. A&S is cancelled for this week.
Greetings Shirelings! To prepare for Silk Painting Class (May 1), A&S night on April 7 will be “Fun with Flags” with a discussion of period banners types and sizes.
Clara will also be bringing her silk swatch card so folks can see what’s available an get help with ordering supplies for the class.
See you there,
Sunday May 1 the shire MoAS will be hosting Baroness Emma West for hands on silk banner painting. Participants should bring fabric to paint (http://www.dharmatrading.com/). Contact Baroness Ysabeau (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more info.
Sunday April 17 at noon-ish the past, present (and future?) members of Shire of Roxbury Mill will gather at a picnic shelter near the Lake Needwood Archery Range for a potluck to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
Please contact the chatelaine (email@example.com) for more info.
From our MoAS:
Greetings to the Shire!
As the folks who were making chair covers have completed their covers (or nearly) as of last week. We will be starting on making scroll cases this Thursday (2/18) as Kingdom largess for Gulf Wars.
We have the supplies, (or rather, Jen Dostal will be bringing the supplies), we just need some extra hands to help cut fabric and cardboard, glue and assemble them into scroll cases.
As always, Thursday Arts &Sciences night is at Tikvat Israel Congregation (2200 Baltimore Road, Rockville, MD 20851) from 7-ish to 9 p.m.
Please note: Our site is HUUUUGE, so if scroll cases are not your thing, please feel free to come hang out, watch the fighting and fencing (2 lists! No Waiting!). We’d love to see your A&S work-in-progress.
